Primary Program

Yesterday at church our ward had the primary program. It was soo cute!!

Bailey said her part without any help and didn't have any trouble. Then she sang one verse to a song with a big group of girls. She loved it and did such a great job. Although you couldn't hear her perfectly I could see her singing every word. It was funny because she was the shortest kid in the bunch...by a lot!

Her cousin Alexa was visiting our ward so she also sat up front with Bailey. Things were getting pretty rowdy towards the end, but what can you do?

Broc also did awesome. I was worried that he would get up there and forget what he was supposed to do because I hadn't written down his part. He did have about 5 seconds of pause once he got up there before he remembered why he was standing in front of the whole congregation. It was funny.

But it was a lot of fun to see the kids participating and singing and all of that.

Thanks so much primary ladies!! You're awesome. With over 100 kids in the primary, that was a lot of work!!

The verdict is in...

I just love them!!! What do you think? :)

I do love this announcement!

I think this one with his squishy little face is my favorite! (below)

I think this one is so artistic, I think I am going to put it up in my white bathroom!

Thanks Crystal! I love them, I am ready to print them off now! Any family interested, just let me know.

Halloween fun!

I think October has been my busiest month ever. As if Halloween and fall don't make it a busy enough month, but I had Beckham also! What a month!  Here are my four cuties in their costumes on Halloween.  Broc is a ninja, Bailey is a princess, Brighton is Abby Cadabby (Sesame Street), and Beckham (thanks, Merri!) actually had a costume and was Mickey Mouse! It was so cute!

We got our cousins together and decided to hit the Main street trick or treating this year. Here they are before...

Alexa was a bumble bee and Maya was a ladybug. Very cute that they were both sweet little bugs!

I couldn't resist getting a picture next to the big butt scarecrow! I just think it is so funny! I couldn't get a great picture though because some lady was there at the exact same time trying to get her kids to pose by him. Oh well!

Maya only made it home with about half of her candy because she refused to wait. Why get candy if you have to wait, right?? She didn't even want to unwrap them sometimes!! haha

At one of the stores they were painting the girls nails, Alexa got pink and Bailey got blue! And Bailey got a sweet ring. I loved all the places that handed out stuff instead of candy, candy is so overrated! :)  Several handed out pencils, stickers, apples, and rings, and stuff. It was kind of nice!

NOW ON TO THE MAIN EVENT!!! The real trick-or-treating!!

The big kids did not want to wait for the little kids so after a while we took the babies home and let the men take the big kids around.  They were much happier being able to run fast from house to house instead of walking and waiting and waiting and waiting.

One house actually handed out playdough and another was handing out glazed donuts to all the kids! Bailey's donut didn't make it home however, she thought it looked too good!

And we found Chad's brother from another mother out walking the streets too....

Preschool Field Trip

After I was able to secure a babysitter for Brighton, I got to head with Bailey's class for the field trip. It was so fun, especially since I didn't go last year. I love the Big Red Barn. It's awesome. The kids loved it.

First you ride on a trailer pulled by a tractor to the pumpkin patch. We were given the option of a big pumpkin or a little pumpkin and an apple! We took the two for one option!

Here are some of the kids riding on the trailer

Picking pumpkins

Baby pumpkin for baby Owen...

Bailey having a good time with her buddy Jaxson!  They were so cute.

Then on to picking some golden delicious apples. And man were they DELICIOUS!! Yum!

Bailey kept picking and picking apples. She was only supposed to do one, but she wasn't satisfied with any of them! She kept doing it when I wasn't looking!

The whole class

Then we rode back in the trailer to some well-deserved, absolutely delicious, apple cider donuts. YUMMMY!!! Makes my mouth water right now, mmmm...donuts!

and our cute neighbor Bryce, also enjoying his snack.

Thanks for the great fun, Miss Karen!

In the spirit of the season...

Although, four kids is going to be crazy. I don't totally feel this way, but I thought this was really clever. Maybe next year I will make one and put it on the front yard. hehe

First time with baby Beckham

Since the hospital had a policy of no kids under 14 being allowed to come in and visit people, the kids were not able to hold their brother until we came home from the hospital on Wednesday the 21st. So, needless to say, they were all CRAZY excited to hold Beckham. That excitement actually hasn't lessened at all in the past week or so.

So here they all are holding Beckham finally.

Cousin Alexa was there that day also!

Broc asks me every morning, "where's the baby?" No "hi, mom" are not the first words anymore.

Brighton was SOOOO excited she was laughing hysterically. She could hardly control her excitement to hold the new baby! It was so cute!

Ha hA HA!!

This was when I was still pregnant, too funny!

I love how the baby is falling out of both Bailey and Brighton's shirts!

Cornmaze and more...

I wanted to make sure we got Cornbelly's in this year before I had the baby. So one Saturday we headed out on a warm sunny day. We also invited our cousins Alexa and Maya who brought their mom, Kelly and Nana. It was a lot of fun. There was so much to do there! I just love it!

First there was the sure favorite...the jumping pillows! Sweet! The kids would have stayed there all day! So fun.

Then we hit the giant slides...

and the cow train. Bailey had to ride alone. That's what happens when it's uneven, but...NEVERMORE!!

Then we went to my second favorite part of the day...Prince and Princess land. (that's not the real name of it, but I don't remember the name of it)  Here they had a bounce house, a pumpkin princess for the girls to meet, cool houses with tables and coloring, and tons of DRESS UP!! The girls were in heaven. They even had knights clothing and swords. Broc was a little sad when we told him he couldn't take the sword into the bounce house though. Gee..I wonder what would have happened.

We also did the corn maze...

and we all got balloons from a very friendly guy. He even made one special just for me.. can you see why this balloon is so cool??

Haha, I love it!

Well we had a great time and can't wait to go again next year!

A Baby Story

So now it is time to enlighten all the minds of those wondering with the story of Beckham's birth!

I'm sure you've all been dying!

We went in to the hospital at a bright and early 6:30am. Thanks to Aunt Kelly the kids were still sleeping at her house! So nice not to worry about them.

So I got all my i's dotted and my t's crossed with paperwork. Then they hooked up my IV. Immediately I started having a contraction! Yeah! Actually not. The contraction wouldn't stop and Beckham's heart rate plummeted to 60 (should be between 110 and 160)! The contraction lasted seriously like 2 minutes long. The nurse came in, changed my IV bag (just in case) and shot me with a shot of Terbutiline, which STOPS contractions. The first shot wasn't working so she had to shoot me again! GREAT!  So I get there and they are having to stop contractions before I even start having labor.

So we wait and make sure I won't do that again and then we get started with the inducement.  Except that contraction worried them so they started me on the absolute lowest dose of pitocin. It did pretty much nothing. It wasn't until I had been on the "pit" for 2 hours when I actually started really being in labor.  Throughout the day they kept turning up and turning up the pit, but it still ended up taking 7 hours!  Thanks to my mom's suggestion, I decided to get the epidural pretty early, right after he broke my water.  So I didn't feel much.

ugh, what a bad picture! Totally swollen! This is right before pushing.

So finally it was time to push. They had me do one push and the baby was pretty much coming out. But since the doc didn't have gloves on I had to wait. Next push we were golden and I was no longer pregnant!!  Beckham again was having trouble with his heart rate dropping at the end so the doctor thought he would have the cord around his neck, but he didn't. Thank goodness.

He was however a little blue when he came out (flashback of Broc's birth!). But he immediately cried which made me happy. The respiratory therapist was there to check him out also and he was fine. So we had our new little baby and everything was great! Total labor time was a little over 7 hours.  Brighton's birth took three hours, so that is kind of what I was hoping to have happen.  It was a little disappointing, but as long as my baby is here, I'm fine.

Even though I was really numb still I got to hold the squirt. He's such a cutie!

Here is Beckham's first bath. He wasn't too happy until he was all wrapped up. He gets scared easily with his arms flying out.  So he loves to be snuggled, which I love.

After that, everything was pretty uneventful. Except for his circumcision which I am still dealing with! That is another story to tell another day.  But WELCOME to the family Beckham!

Started but never finished...

At our house, projects are a dime a dozen. There are about 1,000 things that we want to do, need to do, would like to do, but never get them done. Things break and need to be fixed. Pictures get taken and never hung. Stuff gets bought and never hung, completed, etc.  I would have to say for me it is the decorating that always falls between the cracks. I never want to do it, partly because I am afraid I will do it, not like it and then have to stare at it for another three years because I don't want to do it again!  Often we will get started...but never finish. Here are a few examples of our hard work...

Note to the reader: Now that I have spilled the beans about our house (I'm really only touching the surface here), what kind of project person are you? I would love to hear your stories.

Category #1: First the oldest of the projects....from our original move-in 3 years ago.

Paint touch ups

A board that we know goes on the back of the entertainment center, but because we weren't sure how it fit, we just left it...to sit, right there...and never move.

paint edging...the other side of the wall is done, but someone was screaming at me...so...

the closet under our stairs...that was going to be the kids playroom, complete with window and mural painted on the wall...pretty close right?

pictures of my kids...oh wait I do have more than two kids now.

walls that never even were made mention in the decorating thought process...thus they sit, empty, barren, waiting...

Category 2: Now on to the more recent projects...started but not yet finished.
Ya never know, we might do it! (probably when we are ready to move out, right?   Nah!)

This picture was taken from...

this wall and these screws that I so carefully measured, leveled and hung. Now it sits on the piano until I decide to rehang it. it's a big boy though.

The computers, that fill our entire home. That will one day serve a purpose.  Only heaven knows what that purpose will be?

My empty wall, that had pictures, but they were moved because 1) they looked bad, 2) the pictures needed updating, and 3) I was going to do something very creative
Pretty creative right?

the garden...three years and counting for this to be perfect. This renovation is however recent.

the shed, it's oh so close...

the pavers, that I started, didn't finish and did poorly. Sorry babe, you'll have to redo those!
oh and the rocks you see in the background...not only have very few moved, but now we realized we have too many!

Same story...did have pictures, we rearranged and never redecorated.

bought this awesome baby at IKEA!! Never hung it up...looks good though right. Tons of finger smudges it make it all that much easier to see yourself.

Sewing projects, my new barely used sewing machine, Chad hates talking about this because I never use it. I really want to though, but this comes even after decorating on my list of things to do.

Final Category: Broken and not gonna fix
These items have been broken for various time frames, but...you get the idea.

This door was broken off the entertainment center...

right here by Bailey I believe. This was probably our first month of owning this lovely piece of furniture.

This clock has said 8:10 for about three months.

I really think this would be a quick fix on the microwave, but I caught Chad trying to throw the parts away the other day. Come on Chad, don't you think we'll fix it...eventually!  Gotta hold on to that small glimmer of hope.

This is the most recent. The kids pulled the curtain rod down by hanging on the curtains.  This would probably be a quick fix, but...

So now you see why I never have any time...or maybe this is why I have too much time on my hands. Because I never get anything done!  Honestly I mean to do some of these some day, but I really doubt it will happen. So if you love to decorate (for free) or love to clean, organize, complete projects, etc., etc., etc. give me a call and I will be glad to find a time when we can tackle some fun projects!

Now how about your house? Do you have lots of projects? Lots of broken things?

Beckham William

He's Finally Here!!!

Beckham William was born on Monday October 19, 2009 at 3:30pm.
He was 6 lbs. 11 oz 20 inches long (our biggest kid ever!!)
He has dark black hair and fairly tan skin, as far as we can tell. His eyes may turn out dark also.

He is such a good sweet little thing and EVERYONE just loves him so much. The kids can't get enough of him. The birth story will follow soon.

Right before starting the induction. My belly looks actually pretty big!

Right after Beckham was born. The big kids were not allowed to come into the hospital because of the swine flu going around. All children under 14 are banned from the entire hospital. So this is the only picture we could get at the hospital.

We are so excited to have finally met our new little baby boy. We love you Beckham!
